Ardell's natural single lash range are amazing and look incredibly natural. They blend effortlessly with your own lashes, creating a fuller effect. Some people are put off buying single lashes, and would rather opt for strip. However, personally I find single lashes sometimes easier to apply. They are buildable, so depending on the look you want to create, you can taylor them pretty much to suit you. I would opt for medium and short sets as I find the long ones just incredibly long!

Curl your lashes first, then apply mascara. First little trick is to get hold of some decent lash glue, I like using DUO. Apply a small pea sized amount on the back of your hand. Allow the glue to go slightly tacky (leave for about 30 seconds) then using either a pair of tweezers, or better yet some lash applicators, grab the first cluster, dip the top where the knot is in the tacky glue, then place gently as close to the lash line as you can, starting from the outer corner and then moving in towards the inner corner. Some people prefer just to place three or four on the outer corner to give that natural flared flick effect, but it is completely up to you. Once the glue is completely dried, the white blobs will disappear and you will be left with gorgeous fuller, natural looking lashes! Enjoy!

The mineral based primer from Hourglass is an absolute essential in anyone's make up kit. Not only does this gorgeously silky primer conceal redness and reduce the appearance of fine line and pores, it is also waterproof! With this on going heatwave, this primer will ensure your make up does not run off the side of your face, but elegantly stays put, from morning till night. Come rain, sweat, tears... with this primer your make up will not budge. Apply a small pea size amount to the face after moisturising, then apply foundation/ tinted moisturiser on top - you'll absolutely love the flawless affect this primer gives to your skin!

This really is a transformational product in the makeup and skincare world... I promise you, you'll love this little gem! X

                  The Waterproof Make Up Primer...

              The Miracle Treatment Oil....

So I have to admit, I was slightly sceptical about doing a juice detox (and there are many out there). Surely five days without food can't be that good for the body? Nevertheless, feeling slightly sluggish and with the favourite pair of jeans just feeling a tad tight, I decided to embrace it and go the longest I have ever gone without solid food.

The Company?

Known as Nosh. They deliver the juices and smoothies straight to your door the night before the detox starts.

Their Claims?

That their smoothies are rich in anti-oxidants, fruit pulp and fibre, which helps maintain energy levels throughout the course, enabling the body to detoxify itself and cleanse thoroughly. Not to mention, increasing the metabolic rate which when food is introduced back into the diet, it is digested a lot easier and quicker. Thus weight loss is more sustainable than "through traditional diet methods".

The Verdict?

Although slightly tough on the second day, and with both my brother and my boyfriend indulging in pastas, steak and chocolate beside me every evening, it wasn't as difficult as I had at first thought. Yes, you crave food, but I have to say the smoothies/ juices really did stave off most of the hunger pains. I did have energy, but going to the gym and doing my usual high intensity workouts was difficult/ near on impossible. Nonetheless- once I got back on those scales and back into my jeans- I had lost 7lbs and my jeans were once again fitting as they should.

Would I recommend it?

Most definitely. I actually really enjoyed the whole experience- surprising as it may seem. But as Nosh say, by the final day, the lightness and the healthiness that you feel, is what you should ideally feel every day and it makes you appreciate good, healthy food. Their inspirational emails that you get each day also help you to understand the benefits of the process and help keep you on track. It has definitely helped me kick start my new year health and fitness regime and I am determined to sustain it.

How will I sustain it?

With the help of my hero- James Duigan 'Clean & Clean'! (blog on the delicious Duigan to follow...!)

                The Natural, Fuller Lash Look...

I am a massive fan of dewy, healthy, glowing looking skin. With these simple little tips, everyone can achieve this in minutes. Here’s how:

1.     After cleansing the face and moisturising choose a primer that suits your skin type. Laura Mercier do a great selection of primers, my personal fave are the hydrating one for dry skin, oil free for oily skin and for normal to slightly combination, I absolutely love the radiance one.

2.     Apply foundation/ tined moistursier (start application in the middle of the face and blend out to get more of a natural, even look)

3.     With a mat bronzer (I use Benefit Hoola) and with a cheek contour brush, dust lightly under cheekbones, move up onto the temples, and dust gently around the outside of the face, blending in. This warms the face and creates gorgeous structure.

4.     With a powder highlighter (I use Bobbi Brown shimmer brick) and with the tip of the contour brush, dust lightly on top of the cheekbones and again up onto the temple. You can go one step further and dust a little on the bridge of the nose, under your chin and on the cupids bow as well.

5.     For the cheeks- I find liquid blushers are perfect for creating that envious dewy glow. I am loving the selection from Becca at the moment. Personal fave is the coral coloured one called Guava (these can also be used as lip stains). Bobbi brown also do a great selection of these. With your first two fingers pat gently on the apples of the cheeks (two fingers away from the nose) and blend upwards. This is easiest to do when you smile exaggeratedly!

6.     Apply a natural coloured balm to the lips (By Terry’s Baume De Rose is Heavenly!) and you are good to go! X

So there seems to be a bit of a buzz in the beauty industry at the moment surrounding Coconut Oil and the huge variety of benefits of using this ingredient internally and externally. This naturally derived supplement has already been used for hundred of years in the beauty industry for its incredible ability to hydrate even the driest of skin and hair as well as being a fantastic anti-irritant. However, only recently has it gained superstar status in the industry for fighting against those free radicals. Free radicals are the main culprit of skin damage and ageing, and any good skin care brand will be packed full of anti-oxidants (like coconut oil) to fight against these and protect our skin. In addition to this, its great for mature skin as it helps to plump and firm as well as adding elasticity.

Scientists have also discovered that taking coconut oil internally as well as using it externally can inhibit weight gain and increase your metabolism as well as our energy levels.

I've started using the Kiehl's amino acid shampoo which contains pure coconnut oil and I have to say, it's amazing and I recommend anyone with dry, heat damaged, prone to frizz hair to try this.

Make sure you look out for this ingredient if you are needing to buy a new moisturiser/ serum/ shampoo and see for yourself.

Five Day Juicing. with Nosh... and no that's not a posh name for food

How to get a natural, dewy looking base in minutes!

Why we need to use Coconut Oil....

Nude's Treatment Oil is by far one of the most exciting things I've got my hands on recently. Being rich in Omega 3,6, 7 & 9 this

product really is food for the skin. It works not only as an anti-inflammatory (reducing signs of redness and blemishes) it also helps the

skin-cells to regenerate and repair - improving the overall appearance and texture of the skin. As well as this, Omega 7 has been proven to help boost collagen (reducing the appearance of fine lines).  It also works amazingly well on even really oily skin (helping balance your skin's production of sebum).

Not only is this product an incredible night treatment, leaving the skin completely hydrated and refreshed the next morning, it also works wonders if you mix a drop or two with your foundation/ tinted moisturiser. I am a massive fan of fresh, dewy natural looking skin. With a drop of this mixed with your make up, you will instantly have that gorgeous, healthy summer glow! A real must! X
